Udderly possible

Grass Island/Independent Grazing Cow

Coming from a semi-farming community back home, I thought I left the cows and bad smells back home. Instead, these cows are found all around Hong Kong since some of the most recent generations of locals with farming backgrounds decide to work or live in the major cities and suburbs. This leaves parents with the only alternative they can see and so the cows are set to roam freely. Its not just the Islands as seen in the picture but hikers, like me, can head to different areas to find these cows.

So, you may ask where the milk comes from in Hong Kong? Mostly, stores will show that Hong Kong depends on China for its needs and some other foreign countries. But, there are a few farms for milking cows like shown in the photo above of their cafe. This farm is near my home in Tsuen Wan. If your out for a walk, hike or bus ride to Ma On Shan Country Park, then you may want to stop by this establishment for some refreshment. Also, they have some goats in a yard that you will see people feeding.

If you get off at Route Twisk/Ma On Shan Country Park, you can hike to this cafe by taking the Kap Lung Forest Trail or Kap Lung Ancient Trail. Both trails provide beautiful scenery. The ancient trail has a bigger area to cool off at a stream before finishing the trail. Once you have departed the bus, you head left up to the trail entrance and continue along the trail which follows closest to the road. There are a couple of other trails you do not want to follow which will eventually take you to the Maclehose though its an interesting trail. Anyways, its best to head

Is your community covered in graffiti? I wouldn't say mine is but its at the point where it could in the future. But, if its anything like the photos above then I'm OK with it. Its one thing to tag your name all over the place. And, there are two types of tagging. One is with some sort of style and the other only takes a few seconds to spray paint onto a wall.

All I am really trying to say is that they need more places for these types of walls for people to express themselves. Granted, you would still have those that take a few seconds to complete their work but that's fixable.

Hong Kong does have one of these walls though it's hidden away. Also, it doesn't stop graffiti artist from putting their work up all along other walls.

Hong Kong has some wonderful views. Yes that right, its on the trail up to Tait's Cairns Pass. Since coming back to Hong Kong, its been extremely exciting to be hitting the trails again. Granted, I have seen some other wonderful places like in Switzerland with their lush vegetation amongst their hills and mountains. But, Hong Kong has its fair share of trails for discovery, exercise and photo ops.  Plus, I love the fact that some hikes end with great places to eat with cold beer or you might some of these places along the trail. While I do enjoy this, extreme caution is to be taken as Im not in the best shape. Instead of watching TV or surfing the net, my bodies needs more jogging, running or walking. It needs training including the easy stream trekking near my home.  I forgot how out of shape I was and ended up being to the detriment of others on a group hiking trip. Bad leg cramps etc were some of the difficulties. It would seem that anything we want to be good at needs the training or we end of being a problem for others that practice with us.
Thats all for now. Hope your doing well.

SCMP.com - Father Thomas Law feels betrayed by church's retreat

SCMP.com - Father Thomas Law feels betrayed by church's retreat: "SCMP.com - Father Thomas Law feels betrayed by church's retreat"

Is Father Thomas Law correct?

Everyone knows the housing market needs to change. The land is controlled by a small majority and that needs to change. People have been suffering too long under housing which is either too small or too expensive. I am grateful to be living in a two bedroom flat with my wife. Don't let the two bedroom confuse you because one bedroom is only big enough for the width of the bed and book case. We use the second bedroom for my desk, another book case and a wardrobe.

Father Law was able to reason the criticism of the  majority of land holders in Hong Kong.  "Call it the fire of love, rather than hatred," he said. "Hatred burns and consumes, while the love of God purifies the heart and sets the people free." Who is going to blame him? The minority, those being poor, are quick to side with his view.

Personally, I think he is right that its time we stood up for the poor and needy. Though, did he do it the right way? Its easy to react with strong emotions that reflect more on the hurt that people are feelings than on love.

Someone needed something to do last night. Police are going to take some DNA samples to find the owner of this moped. Yes, I called it in not because I knew who did it but the park should remain clean. As this was really burned, someone has to wonder how much petrol it took to do something like this. As well, who pissed off who to have this done. Anyways, this is something to leave with the police. I guess there alternatives to the story because it could of just exploded and was left in Gloucester park to be collected by government services. Well, wherever it was burned the government is picking up the tab to dispose of it. There is our council tax dollars at work. Does it look like money well spent? I guess I am advertising for the SIMS group.

This not exactly where it was found. The driver dragged it closer to where his truck could pick it up with the haudralic system. If you don't know the area, this is right behind the futball field near the entrance off of Brunswick at Gloucester Park.

I had a lovely day at the Cathedral in Gloucester. This pic is very vibrant with colours coming from the sun shiny through coloured glass onto the large stone columns. I have to stay that Im estatic about how this photo has come out.

Today, organizations were promoting artist work by providing paper, pencils, erasers and a clip board. I improvised by using the coloured glass as my clipboard. After finishing a photo of Mary and baby Jesus, it was finished with some coloured pencils and markers.

Then, I proceeded to walk around the Cathedral with its wonderful halls. A person might not know how wonderful it is until they come are present in it. No matter the size of the person, the halls and rooms can make anyone feel quite small.

There was another interesting hall which was long but very small in height. Its main purpose was for whispering. People, on either end of the hall, could whisper and be heard. It was simply amazing so there is some rational scientific explanation for it.

My concern was not to see where Harry Potter had filmed some of the movie though some of it looks familiar. A friend told me to go there for photography. So, this is where the photo comes from. There are more but will save them for Picasa and other sites.

This is the window that I usually am studying from. It is great with the light that it provides. Though, I think that I need something quieter. There is about 5 library rooms though a couple do not have such a great view. Sometimes, I have to find other rooms to study as students might choose this spot.
The tree is a great place to pray or meditate on the passages from the Bible. Other students might come out here to pray, play soccer, or enjoy the beautiful scenery.
